Forestry and land agencies

Mining as a driver in land-sector reporting.

The problem

Land-cover maps have forest classes but no mining class, so forest cleared for mining is reported as conversion to settlements or other land, and never as mining.

What EmiMine does

  • A national series of forest cleared for mining since 2001, by forest type
  • Emissions with the inventory's own carbon pools: living biomass, dead wood and litter
  • The 20-year area in conversion that the CRT asks for
  • A check against the inventory's land-conversion areas
Your data. National totals only: no artisanal or informal site is located, mapped or described.

Modules you use
